Hollywood Movies
Half day / Full Day / Two Day Events
This event can be run over a
half day, full day or over two days. It
can also be combined with the Safari Challenge for variety. We
would commence with a lively warm-up before introducing the day's activities. The
delegates will be divided into working teams (these are often
pre-arranged groups). The aim will be for each team to produce
a 5 minute video to promote the team or advertise the organisation. Alternatively,
we can give the groups a theme for their movie - Western, Sci-Fi, Romance,
Horror etc.
Each team will have a starter pack comprising
of cam-corder, video tape, rules and constraints, story board sheets,
script sheets, pens, paper and a box of props. The props box will
contain wigs, masks and unusual objects relating to the theme of the
movie. The team
will need to develop ideas, translate those ideas onto a story-board,
devise the script, make any additional props, plan the ‘shoots’ and
conduct the filming in sequence.
After filming all teams will meet up to share
their finished products with the other teams on the large screen. Finally,
a mock ‘Oscar’s
Award Ceremony’ is held. Full size engraved Oscars will be presented
for categories such as; the best film, director, male and female actor
etc. Naturally, the winners will be required to give their acceptance
speeches, in true Hollywood fashion. This is all filmed and after
the event all movies plus the Oscars ceremony are edited with captions
and background music on to a VHS tape for you to keep for prosperity.
The Film Team Project
An additional
option when selecting the full day or two day event is to introduce the "Movie Makers Budget" into
the programme. Each
team is given £250,000 of fun money with which to make the movie. Every
aspect of making the film, from hiring the camera by the minute to getting
advice from the very colourful Sam Goldwyn (who is only there for a short
period) is charged for.
However, £250,000 is never
enough money to make the film and so the teams have to create additional
revenue by selling advertising, getting star names in the film and many
other tasks that require a degree of lateral thinking. All activities
must be booked in advance through the Studio, which requires careful
planning to ensure the resources you require are available. This
is all complimented by the "Act Of God" cards which introduce
a random element into proceedings. These cards are drawn by each
team at the review breaks and may force a swift re-think of budgets ..........
but that's life!
Prices start
from £995 for the
Half Day Programme and £1,575
for the Full Day Programme depending on delegate numbers, venue and agreed
programme.
